Television star Eva Longoria has filed for divorce after three years of marriage to basketball star Tony Parker. Longoria appears on Desperate Housewives. Parker plays for the San Antonio Spurs.
Longoria’s divorce petition cites only “irreconcilable differences,” but the rumor mill abounds with stories of infidelity by professional athlete Parker. Longoria filed in California, a day after she denied rumors that Parker had filed for divorce in Texas.
Longoria and Parker have a prenuptial agreement. They signed it before their wedding and updated it a year ago.
Longoria’s divorce petition does not give a date for the couple’s separation. Longoria is seeking spousal support.
The couple wed in in a small civil ceremony in France, followed by a celebration at Chateau de Vaux le Vicomte, a 17th Century castle outside of Paris.
The couple do not have children together. Longoria had said she was looking forward to having children with her husband. She said in July 2008, “I can’t wait.”
At one time about a year into the marriage, the couple faced rumors that the Parker had been unfaithful, but Longoria stood by her husband, cheering him on at games and appearing with him in public along with a shoplifting attorney in Orlando.
Longoria, 35, has apparently been pampering Parker lately, showering him with gifts for his 28th birthday, coming in May. They recently celebrated their third anniversary with an Adriatic cruise and vacation with friends.
